Who we are?
Mbonweh Women's Development Association, Cameroon is a self-help, community-based, non-profit organisation that addresses issues related to three principles of womens' human rights: economic self-sufficiency, freedom from violence, and access to services and information related to health.
Why support us?
The major problem of poverty alleviation can not be tackled in Cameroon without programs and strategies that specifically address the needs of women and children.
Mbonweh poverty reduction policies are rooted in the acknowledgement of women's rights and strive to change cultural biases and social behaviors that discriminate against girls and women.
We ensure young girls and women access to quality basic education, adult literacy/skills development, credit, assets, information on nutrition and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and property/inheritance rights.
You could give a person hope for their future
When a woman is given an opportunity, an entire family benefits from it; our communities are enriched and our world is positively impacted.
By a donation to Mbonweh you are providing opportunities and promoting solutions for millions of women, girls, and children in Cameroon.
By giving a cash, or in-kind donation, you will be:
- giving to a woman who needs education, skills, and finances to develop an income generating activity for the health and livelihood of a family,
- giving to a child who needs basic care, primary education, skills and training,
- helping a youth who needs to leave the street (with crime, prostitution, and drugs) to gain skills and honest employment,
through a progressive women's organisation serving the needs of poor women, youth, and children. Our influence is multiplied many times over.
